Axial length measurement · NidekNidek AL-Scan
The AL-Scan from NIDEK is an optical biometry device for determining the axial length of the human eye. In addition, a series of measurements is carried out to determine keratometry, corneal diameter, corneal thickness, anterior chamber depth and pupil diameter. Measuring these parameters takes just 10 seconds. The large 8.4-inch (23.4 cm) colour touch screen provides an excellent overview and intuitive operation.
Automatic 3D alignment, measurement triggering and compensation for eye movements guarantee the highest measurement accuracy.
The AL-Scan from NIDEK – maximum ease of use thanks to autotracking and auto-shot
- Automatic centring and measurement triggering
- Auto-tracking to compensate for eye movements
- Measurement of the
- Axial length calculated from up to 10 individual measurements
- Keratometry on the 2.4 mm and 3.3 mm rings
- Corneal thickness (CCT) and anterior chamber depth (ACD)
- Corneal diameter (HWTW)
- Pupil diameter (PS)
- Ultrasound probe (A-scan) for highly mature cataracts (optional)
- Preset measurement modes
- Measurement modes for phakic, aphakic and pseudophakic eyes
- Irisphoto
- Assistant for toric IOLs
- Network-compatible, LAN & USB
The OCULUS/NIDEK AL-Scan
NIDEK ’s tried-and-tested 3D auto-tracking and auto-shot functions guarantee maximum ease of use and precise results. The AL-Scan automatically aligns itself in front of the eye and initiates the measurement process. Any eye movements during the measurement process are detected and compensated for.
The individual measurements used to determine the axial length are generated from up to 10 individual measurements. This specific form of analysis guarantees a high success rate even in cases of mature cataracts. In cases of highly mature cataracts, it is no longer possible to measure the axial length using optical methods. However, the AL-Scan offers an ultrasound probe (A-scan) which is directly coupled to the AL-Scan.
