Hand-held refractometer Nidek HandyRef

The handheld autorefracto-keratometer gives the user the freedom to carry out an objective refraction or keratometry in any situation. The device allows precise measurements to be taken quickly and easily.
Objective refraction in every situation:
- During home visits, in the operating theatre, or when examining children.
Excellent measurement results:
- Even with small pupils and impaired fundus reflex.
Maximum convenience:
- The screen of the autorefracto-keratometer intuitively displays all functions and measurement results. The measurement data can be transferred to the base station and the user’s own computer system.
Automatic measurement trigger
With SynchroScan technology, the measurement is triggered automatically as soon as the device is correctly aligned in front of the subject’s eye. It enables user-independent, reproducible measurements.
Cylinder axis correction
The HandyRef-K automatically corrects the cylinder axis of the measurement result when held at an angle.
Rotating cylinder axis
When tilted, the HandyRef-K automatically switches to a supine patient position. The cylinder axis rotates, depending on the measurement position, either by 90° or 180°.
Tune function
The melody function helps to capture children’s attention during the measurement.
Fixation image
A flower or a balloon can be selected as the fixation image (please specify when ordering).
Colour LCD display
The large colour LCD display allows the spatial distance between the user and the test subject to be maintained.
Automatic right/left detection
A sensor automatically detects which
The eye is being measured at this moment.
Measurement of pupil size
Measurement of pupil size, even for small pupils from 2 mm in diameter.
Retro-illumination
Retro-illumination for images that reveal opacities within the eye.
Precise measurement results, even in cases of cataracts
The autorefractometers from OCULUS/NIDEK use a superluminescent diode (SLD) rather than a conventional LED. The SLD’s retro-reflection from the retina is significantly sharper and clearer, even when the optical media are cloudy. The highly sensitive CCD camera further ensures high image quality. This means that even eyes affected by cataracts can be measured with precision.
