Nidek Tonoref™ III

Tonoref™ III
The Tonoref™ III from OCULUS/NIDEK is a combined device comprising an autorefracto-keratometer (ARK) and a non-contact tonometer (NT) with integrated corneal thickness measurement. By combining measurements of refraction, corneal curvature, intraocular pressure and corneal thickness, you obtain rapid and precise information. The Tonoref™ III impresses with its high reproducibility of measurement values and ease of use. All measurement results are shown on a clear display.
Four devices in one: refractometer, keratometer, tonometer and pachymeter!
Two measurement areas to distinguish between day and night refraction
The measurements for the 3.5 mm and 6 mm areas are determined and compared simultaneously. They thus provide insight into differences in refraction under photopic and mesopic conditions.
4 measurement functions in one
Automatic centring, focusing and measurement initiation for all four measurement functions. Refraction, keratometry, non-contact tonometry and pachymetry can be performed consecutively or selected individually.
Objective measurement of the range of accommodation
Whilst the test subject looks into the device, a fixation target moves towards them from a distance. During the accommodation process, refraction and pupil contraction are continuously measured and subsequently plotted graphically.
Visualisation of opacities using retro-illumination
To complement the refraction test, images of the optical media can be taken under retro-illumination. These images provide information about opacities that may affect visual acuity.
Customised air pulse for maximum comfort
The air pulse of the Tonoref III is extremely gentle and quiet. The next pulse is automatically adjusted according to the measured intraocular pressure. The results are displayed both uncorrected and corrected according to corneal thickness. The correction can be applied, for example, according to the Dresden Table, Shah or Ehlers.
